Description: I decided to look at downtown Denver and see what has changed since 1996. Over the 25 years, we have more buildings, and Denver hasn’t stopped growing. Instead of building out, they are building up. In 1995, Elitch Gardens moved to its current location on the northwest side of downtown in Platte River Valley. The water park addition was not added until 1999-2001. Today, there are more rides, although you can’t see them because there are more trees. In 1996, there were smaller buildings downtown. Parking lots were sold, and huge buildings were built. Some of the buildings are Republic Plaza - 717 feet tall, the tallest building in Colorado. The Century Link Building - 709 feet (738 with antenna). The third largest is the Wells Fargo Center known all over the world as the "Cash Register Building" at 698 feet. The newest building built in 2018 is located on 15th Street between Lawrence and Arapahoe. It stands at 617 feet.
