The Rocky Mountain Wa Shonaji Quilt Guild’s Virtual Quilt Exhibit “WE the PEOPLE and Colorado Architecture – Buildings and Bridges” is dedicated to the memory of the Honorable Congressman John Robert Lewis, (February 21, 1940 – July 17, 2020) who tirelessly served his entire life as a civil rights activist, and trumpeter for justice, including voting rights.
In his final essay, Mr. Lewis wrote:
“While my time here has now come to an end, I want you to know that in the last days and hours of my life you inspired me. You filled me with hope about the next chapter of the great American story when you used your power to make a difference in our society. Millions of people motivated simply by human compassion laid down the burdens of division. Around the country and the world you set aside race, class, age, language and nationality to demand respect for human dignity.”
In his words – Let us get into “good trouble to achieve necessary change.”
As a result of the Coronavirus/Covid 19 pandemic, we were unable to have a public exhibit.
Please sit back, relax and enjoy our “VIRTUAL” Exhibit.
