Description: Row 1 – A Poster used to advertise the sale of slaves; Atlantic Slave Trade routes and the number of people displaced to areas that held slaves; Slave holding compound in Africa used to also hold horses, cotton, tobacco and many other exports. Row 2 – Slave Poster; Underground Railroad (UGRR) routes used by many slaves to escape slavery; Generalized routes of the UGRR. Row 3 – Some AA performers made it good as entertainers but still could not stay in the hotels in which they performed; The atmosphere at the time was degrading. AA’s were still viewed as second class; The Great Migration Corridors – AA’s moved north for a better life. Row 4 – The struggle continues for freedom and equal rights. The events of the 50’s and 60’s have kept the struggle in the news, which helped make some changes.
